Second Grade News

October 28-October 31

Reading and Spelling:  This is a review and assessment week for us.  We will not have new lists of reading and spelling words, but we will be spending time reviewing the words we have learned so far this year.

Halloween:   We will celebrate Halloween in the afternoon on Thursday, October 31.  Please send your child’s costume in a bag labeled with your child’s name.  Also, please remember to send one cup of a snack/munchie item (no peanuts) for your child to add to our class trail mix. 

On Halloween, we will have a regular morning in our classroom.  After our noon recess, we will put on our costumes and parade through the fourth grade wax museums at 1:00.  At about 1:15, we will parade down the main street in McBain (Roland Street) if the weather permits.  If you happen to be in town about 1:15, we would love to have you watch our parade.

No school for students on Friday, November 1.

Picture Retakes:  Picture retakes will be on November 6.  Please contact the office if your child needs his/her picture retaken.

Parent Teacher Conferences:  Conferences will be held on November 14 from 1-8pm.  Your child will soon receive a letter with his/her specific conference time.  I look forward to seeing you at conferences.
