Math:  We are learning what it means to multiply.  We think of it as an array of dots.  For example, 3x5 means 3 rows of 5 dots.  Below is the array we would use to think about 3x5.

                  .  .  .  .  .

                  .  .  .  .  .

This week, we will be memorizing the multiplication facts of _x0, _x1, _ and x2.  We will also be memorizing our facts up to 5x5.  This would be a great time to make/buy some flashcards and help your child practice at home.

Library Books:  Please make sure all library books are returned to school by Thursday.

Fun To Be Fit Day:  This will be on Friday afternoon.  If you are planning to participate, please come to school by 12:50.  Kindergarten and first grade begin at 1:00.  Second, third, and fourth grade begin the run/walk at 1:10.

Track and Field Day is Friday, June 8.

Have a great week!

On Wednesday, we will begin Unit 11 which is an introduction to multiplication.
