Second  Grade News
     March 10-14

Here is a peek at what will be happening in our classroom:

Reading:   We will be reading non-fiction selections and learning how to use the text features to gain information.  We will learn that text features help us pay attention to important parts of a selection.  We will learn that when we read non-fiction, we pay extra attention to the headline or title, bold print, captions, section headings, and inserts (photos, maps, timelines, graphs, charts, etc.)

These are our new reading vocabulary words for this week:

able              early             own               story             thought
         cousin          growl             grazing         dismay         feathers
         brook          banquet         kernel           gobbled       wedding

Please put this letter in a handy spot where your child can see it and practice these words with you on a daily basis.
