  Second Grade News

                              November 26-30
Reading: Our reading vocabulary words for this week are:
call             enough              heard                 full             until

bore           exclaimed        prodded            impatient

ripe            patch                  squeeze            hurled
Please help your child practice reading these words several times during the week.
Spelling:  Your child’s new list is attached to this letter.
Christmas Party:  Our Christmas party will be in the afternoon on Thursday. December 20.  Since some of you might like to shop early, I will tell you how we celebrate in second grade.  I am asking that each child bring in 22 of a small item or treat to pass out to the members of our class.  Some possible ideas are:  small bouncy balls, fancy pencils or pens, slap bracelets, packs of gum, the types of little toys found in packs of party favor toys, etc.  Just use your imagination and have fun with it, but please keep this very inexpensive (just a couple of dollars).
Speed Stack Orders:  These are due by November 30 if you are interested in purchasing a set.
Elementary Christmas Concert:  This will be on Monday, December 10 at 7:00pm in the High School Gym.
Project Christmas:   The elementary is collecting non-perishable food items.  You may send in donations at any time.
Have a great week!

                              November 19-21
Since this is a short week, we will not have a new list of spelling words or a test.  Three days is just not enough time to do justice to a new list.  We will, however, spend time each day reviewing previously taught words.

Holiday Craft Show is this Saturday.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with your families!
