Reading: This week our genre is fiction. As we read our stories, we will be looking for
the character, setting, problem, and ending in our stories. We will also be discussing the sequence of
the plot –beginning, middle, end. We
will also be determining the author’s purpose of the selections we read (to
inform or to entertain). As you read
with your child at home, please take a few minutes to discuss these aspects of
a story. Our high-frequency sight words:
which hundred
places either
those apart
over also
begin without
begin without
Please hang this letter in a handy spot so you can
help your child practice reading the words from it a couple of times each day.
Reminders:
*Monday is a delayed start.
*Donations for the PTO theme
baskets are due by January 23.
*Breakfast is served at 7:55
every morning. If you would like your
child to have breakfast, please make sure he/she is here in a timely manner.
Have a great weekend!
