Second Grade News
September 24-28
This is a peek
at what we will be working on this week:
Reading:
These are our reading vocabulary words for the week. We will learn to read them and learn what
they mean.
should
their through very
would eagle helmet signals
steep trail gravel giggled
gully spray climb crept
soared everywhere
A good way to help your child practice is to
put this list in a handy spot and have your child practice reading through the
words a couple of times each day.
Our
comprehension skill is setting. We will
learn that the setting is the time and place of a story. Settings can be real or imaginary.
Spelling:
Your child’s spelling list is stapled to this letter. We practice these words every day in
school. Please take a couple of minutes
each night to help your child practice at home, too. We will have a spelling test on Friday.
Reminder: Our field trip is on Wednesday, October
10. Please return your child’s
permission slip as soon as possible.
Have a great
week!
