Second Grade News
March 4-8
Reading:
These are our new vocabulary words for this week:
family finally morning paper mall
wriggle wailed gulped gnats calm
diary gathered hospital photos
retrace overnight really
Please put this list in a handy spot and have your child read
through it a couple of times each day. I
am seeing huge reading gains in the children who have been reviewing these
words at home on a regular basis.
This week as we read, we will be talking about the plot of a
story. We are learning that the plot of
a story is what happens from beginning to end.
As you read with your child at home, please take time to discuss the
important events in the beginning, middle, and end of a story.
Spelling:
Your child’s new list is attached to this letter.
