Reading:  These are our new vocabulary words.  Please put this list in a handy spot and have your child practice reading through these words a couple to times every day.

Our comprehension skill is summarizing.  A summary of a story tells in a few sentences what the story is about.  A summary includes the important ideas such as character, setting, problem, and important events at the beginning, middle, and end of the story.  As you read with your child at home, please ask him/her to give you a summary of the story.

Spelling:  Your child’s new list is attached to this letter.

Reminders:   Monday is a delayed start for the students.  School will begin at 10:00 am.  We return to the Library on Monday.  Please make sure all books are returned so that more may be checked out.  Have a great weekend!
